  • Welcome to my blog!

    Hi there! I'm Linsey. And it’s no secret that I love taking pictures. I admit it – I’m addicted. What can I say? Pictures make me happy.

    I am a natural light photographer and love the creativity that comes from shooting on location. I’m not your typical line ‘em up and say "cheese" type of gal. Instead, I try to have a lot of fun in our sessions. My goal is to give you pictures that show interaction and personality. I want to capture a bit of your child's spunk, their sweetness, and their soul.

    When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me chasing around my two kiddos, bargain shopping for cute kid clothes (yeah, I’m a little obsessed), watching The Office with my sweet husband, making chocolate chip cookies (our nightly tradition), blogging, or surfing for travel deals.

    I can't wait to meet your family and capture what you love most in life!

Up! Up! And Away! {Katy, TX Child Photographer}

My husband and I are going up, up, and away for a ten day vacation, so Jack and Jane Photography will be closed for a much deserved break as well.  I’m so excited, but oh so nervous too!!!  It’s the first time we’ve both left the kids for longer than a day since we’ve been married.  And now ten days?!?! But, I know they’ll do great!  Their grandparents are wonderful!!!

While we’re away, we won’t have any phone access, and will have very limited access to e-mail. So, I’ll try to return e-mail messages, but it may take a little while. So, where are we going?!  Well, you will just have to see!  In the meantime, I wanted to leave you with a picture.  More fun ones from this cute little boy to come!  :o)

Having fun {Katy, Texas Senior Photographer}

I’ve heard time and again that when you’re a paid photographer sometimes you just need to take a break from deadlines, client expectations, nervous jitters, and just shoot for yourself.  It’s so true that it’s important to remember why you got into photography in the first place and shoot because you love it and for no other reason.  So last month – yep, while I was still on crutches – this is what I did.  I grabbed my friend Alden and off we went exploring new locations around Katy.  Alden is seriously the cutest girl ever!  And she has more style than almost anyone I know and can practically run a marathon in her sleep.  I wish!!!  Thank you Sweetheart!  You are gorgeous inside and out!!

Peek-A-Boo {Houston, Texas Children’s Photographer}

Peek-A-Boo!  These pictures were from another mini-photo shoot I did while I was up in Pennsylvania. This little girl was absolutely adorable.  She has the prettiest smile, but it wasn’t until we asked her to play peek-a-boo that the real giggles came out.  Such a gorgeous smile and some of the prettiest blue eyes I’ve ever seen!  Enjoy the pictures!  More fun pictures are coming your way.

Jinky Highs {Katy, TX Children’s Photographer}

Whenever someone would ask how I got into photography, I would always respond that I got the shutter bug after my children were born.  I wanted to capture each and every moment, but would get perpetually frustrated that I was never able to capture those moments the way I wanted to remember them.

Well . . . that explanation was only half the story.  The other half involves a photographer from Australia named Barb Uil (otherwise known as JinkyArt).  I happened across her website almost two years ago, and was completely captivated by her images and drawn into her world.  Her work is pure magic.  She has an unparalleled ability to capture images through the eyes of a child.  I simply adore her style and had never seen anything quite like it.

When Barb announced this past January that she was coming to the United States this summer to teach a series of workshops, I leapt at the opportunity.  I couldn’t believe it and counted down the days like a little girl counting down to Christmas. And Christmas in August it was indeed!  Last week I had the incredible opportunity of spending three days in Pennsylvania with twelve other amazing photographers watching Barb create magic.  Each day was completely inspirational.  I loved every minute!  Barb and her family are beautiful inside and out.

The first night we had the pleasure of photographing her adorable and spunky daughter.  It was so much fun and the perfect way to start things out.  Enjoy the pictures.  There will be lots more to follow.

Sparkles and Jeters {Katy, Texas Pet Photographer}

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Sparkles and Jeters . . . and their mom and dad too!  When I received a call last week to do a pet shoot, I jumped at the chance.  I love dogs and have always wanted to do a photo session involving dogs.  I think I’ve shot everything from teeny tiny babies to my daughter’s goldfish.  We met up in a local park in Katy, Texas. We let the dogs run around and play, and explore a bit, and I shot some pictures along the way.  The dogs were so cute!!!!  Don’t dogs have a way of just making you happy when you are around them?  They are so easy to please and oh so sweet in every way.

When I got home, my three year daughter, who simply  adores dogs to no end, insisted on knowing where I had been.  I couldn’t help but tell her that I was out taking pictures of two “puppies” (which is her word for dogs).  She was quite jealous and wanted to know their names and everything about them. So Hayley sat on my lap for the next hour and we went through pictures of Sparkles and Jeters and I told stories along the way. It was very cute. Thank you Sparkles and Jeters.  I hope you both and your mommy and daddy enjoy your sneak peek.
